Stephen Smith

Stephen is Railhead's drummer, percussionist and resident musicoligist.

I was born in Dallas sometime in the 60's, my first album was ZZ Top's 'Fandango'. They are still one of my favorite bands. My drumming career began as a sixth grader with an extremely used Sonar set purchased by my parents for use "until they were sure I was committed."

That set lasted through 2 rock bands, 2 blues bands and a country & western band. The current DW set came on the scene nearly 20 years later, topped off by Zildjian cymbals, exclusively.

My biggest musical influences are ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stevie Ray Vaughn and, believe it or not, Willie Nelson. I appreciate people like Willie who are committed to just being themselves. So, if you are committed to great live music, come out and introduce yourself. You will be glad you did.
